"hi Rob,, i was recentltly brain injured on my left side from the from resection of a second brain tumour and had my license supended . i am now relying on Mobinlity pPlus from Gand River Transit to go to the Traverse/opportunity centre whichpprovides a safe, warm and inviting place for people with all levels of brain injuries. i just retired(early at 50) from teaching and met you previously at fundraisers for mri machines at CMH.which my colleagues and i from Hilldrest and Woodland Park were always involved in. Mobility PLus needs at least 2 more buses and more trained drivers . i have been relying on family from out of town to drive me for the 8 weeks i have gone because in the 8 weeks i have only been able to get a ride 2x to the class i take on Mobility pPlus -twice i have missed the class as my pareents in ther 70s were away and there were no spaces available on the bus left for me i would have to go at 6 am and come home at 8pm - 3 hours early, and there is never any space for me coming home - even when i call a week ahead between 8 am and 9 am to reseerve for future bookings as their rules state.i do tai chi and glass fusing, and for a former art teacher, its the only creative expression and stretching i get to do. it is sometimes the only time i get out in a week. to deny people this healing brain therapyi think is a crime simply due to lack of transportation. i can walk on my own, but need a cane or walkerbut trip on uneven sidewalks. i wear a lifeline but cannot walk to my nearest bus station znd its signal doesnt extend past my yard."
